About the Founder

Hi, I'm Lukáš. Welcome to my country.

"I created Wonders of Czechia to be the guide I wish had existed when my first foreign friends came to visit."

Lukáš, founder of Wonders of Czechia

Hi, I'm Lukáš — a Prague local who still gets lost on purpose in his own city. I started Wonders of Czechia because I kept watching friends from abroad leave with a checklist of famous sights, but never the Czechia I actually know: the castle ruins you reach by a forest path, the wine cellar where the owner pulls up a chair, and the town square that goes silent at dusk.

Why this publication exists.

The English-language internet is full of travel content about Czechia — most of it thin, generic, or written by people who've spent a long weekend in Prague. That's not what a first-time traveler deserves.

Wonders of Czechia is my attempt to build the opposite: a slow, thoughtful, honest travel publication written from the inside. Every guide is based on real trips, real trains, real seasons and real conversations with the innkeepers, guides, and grandmothers who make this country what it is.

What I promise you.

  • 01. Honest recommendations — including telling you when something isn't worth your time.
  • 02. Practical advice with real numbers, real train times, real prices.
  • 03. No AI slop, no clickbait, no popups begging for your email every 8 seconds.
  • 04. When I earn a commission from a booking, I'll disclose it — and I'll only recommend things I'd send a friend to.

What's next.

I'm currently building out the destination library (Prague first, then Český Krumlov, Kutná Hora and the rest), a proper 7-day itinerary, and a monthly letter for readers planning a trip. If you're planning to visit Czechia in the next year, you're exactly who I'm writing this for.

Thank you for reading. — Lukáš, Prague
