What's Inside
The complex holds St. Vitus Cathedral (the Gothic centerpiece, still unfinished after nearly 600 years of construction), the Old Royal Palace, St. George's Basilica, and Golden Lane — a row of tiny, colorful 16th-century houses once home to castle marksmen and goldsmiths. The complex is free to walk through; only specific interiors require a paid ticket.

When to Go
Arrive right at opening (9 a.m.) or after 4 p.m. to avoid the worst of the tour bus crowds, especially between May and September. The changing of the guard happens every hour, but the ceremonial version with music and flag-changing only happens at noon.
